Amplifier has been in a smoke free / pet free home. Soundcraftsmen PCR 800 Power Amplifier 205WPC Mosfet Stereo PCR800 - (SHOEBOX, 6 HITACHI TO3-METAL MOSFETS/CH, RCA INPUTS, PCR POWER SUPPLY, FAN COOLED.
Please send questions or additional photo requests if needed. They were either too expensive (read that as crazy expensive), or cheap (terrible sounding). Work for me to power a set of speakers just fine. As in all things in my life, I was compelled into designing loudspeakers because I was dissatisfied with what were available.
I think there is a later version, depending on the serial number, of the PCR800s that also used the exicon mosfets as well. I've read that the some the exicon mosfets sounded cleaner compared to the hitachi's. Capable of driving a low impedance load at 300 watts into 4 ohms and 350 watts into 2. The PCR860 had another pair of outputs and while rated for 2 ohms, I wouldnt try it. Specs: MOSFET output stages rated at 205 watts per channel into 8 ohms. I've always thought of these as half of a pro power four, has a capacitor in it the size of my fist. 'Soundcraftsmen had a 20 page color ad 'Absolutely 'as good as anything else weve come across, regardless of price.' 'handling output into even the 1ohm range' Will not drive less than 4 ohms. The S800 shares the same specs at the PCR800/PRO POWER ONE - using EXICON MOSFETS over Hitachi S800 - (SHOEBOX, 4 EXICON TO3-METAL MOSFETS/CH, RCA INPUTS, PCR POWER SUPPLY, FAN COOLED, EXTERNALLY AND INTERNALLY BRIDGEABLE). Bed room system: Onkyo Integra TX-DS939 THX surround receiver, Sony DVP-CX985V, JBL HT1-TXH 5.2 surround speaker system, SAE MKXXXI-B amplifier to run the mains, Soundcraftsmen MA5002A used as subwoofer amp, monster 400 series cables and interconnects in all of my systems, Toshiba Cinema Series 27' CRT television. Soundcraftsmen S800 power amplifier - part of the line of shoebox amplifiers - very similar to the PCR 800 - MTX bought/merged with Soundcraftsmen in the late 90s and continued the product lines until the mid-90s (1995?) The PRO POWER ONE / PCR 800 became the S800 with dual branding.
